Does Murmur require an account?

Murmur creates a guest account automatically. You can use, purchase, restore, and reconcile purchases as a guest. Email and sign-in are optional; saving a purchase to an account helps recover it across devices.

Does Murmur save audio or transcript history?

Murmur does not save captured audio or cloud transcript history by default. Eligible paid users can have committed translated captions stored on the device only. If you consent to Session Insights, translated text is sent to OpenRouter to derive an insight; Murmur discards the text and deletes the insight after 24 months or earlier on account deletion.
